Quick answer

Craft the item that solves the next run's bottleneck. The opening sequence teaches a broken sword first; later gameplay evidence shows recipes for a leather hood, shields, weapons and shop decorations. Do not spend all materials on a β€œbest build” before the released game provides stable costs and stats.

Where materials come from

  • The yard provides the first basic resources for the chest, table and broken sword.
  • Destructible dungeon objects can provide wood, stone, iron and healing potions.
  • Chests add mixed loot and recipes; collect scattered contents before leaving.
  • The forest is a safer restock route for wood, stone, leather and mushrooms, with goblin events and changing weather.

Crafting order for a new save

OrderCrafting goalWhy
1Broken swordUnlocks the first dungeon attempt
2Recovery or defensive optionIncreases the chance of reaching a teleport
3Reliable weapon or armorLets you justify a deeper floor
4Shop fixtureConverts shop space into tested utility or appeal
5Decorative extrasOnly after the next expedition and active objective are funded

Recipe discipline

Keep a recipe when you discover it, and write down the materials it consumes before crafting. A recipe is not automatically a good immediate purchase: compare it with the health, damage, storage and shop goal of the next run. If a material is both a quest requirement and a recipe input, reserve one copy until the objective is complete.

Gear and shop are one economy

Stronger weapons and tougher armor are explicitly intended to support deeper dungeon runs. Shop fixtures and decorations can improve the shop or provide permanent combat bonuses. The useful question is therefore not β€œwhich item is best?” but β€œwhich craft makes the next safe run or sale more likely?”

Sources and scope

The official Steam page confirms forging weapons and armor, crafting recipes and furniture bonuses. The Steam Community Guides hub is the live player-reference index. Specific recipe names, costs and item stats in the launch transcript are player observations and need released-build verification before becoming a database.
